Tailscale makes a headless Mac mini easy to manage
Tailscale makes it really easy to manage my headless Mac mini personal AI assistant setup.
Tailscale on my Mac mini means I can access it with VNC (Screen Sharing) if I'm not on the same wifi network as the Mac mini, which is extremely convenient. If I'm traveling abroad, I can use my Mac mini as an exit node and bypass any geo-blocks. I wanted to enable FileVault, so I even have a remote KVM with Tailscale on it to unlock the Mac after a reboot.
I could potentially see myself getting another headless Mac mini for coding purposes, since it's so easy to set up and use.
As an aside, Apple's Screen Sharing is amazing when I'm on the same network at home; the latency is barely noticeable!
